...but it gave us some good publicity.

Buongiorno

Well honestly this week has really been a dull week. The rainy season has started, and we had a terrible p-day inside. Also the day before we were completely soaked doing street, and I kinda got in an arguement with a guy about 9/11. He was saying that we put dynamite at the bottom of the towers to make them fall. I had to tell him he was an idiot. Also we did do a service project with the memebers here. We "cleaned" this park, but honestly I don't think I've ever wasted more time. We were raking up pine cones and needles for 5 hours. Anyway the end result is we really didn't get a lot done, but it gave us some good publicity. Sorry it was such a lame week. We will try to do more cool things this coming week.

"can't they decide for themselves?"

Ciao tutti

Hey ya'll I don't really have much today, but I do have pictures finally. Sorry it took so long, but I promise the wait was worth it. The funniest thing that happened this past week is that we were doing the door knocking thing, and we entered a building to find this door opened and a two women sitting inside. The first thing they say to us is "no we don't need anything, nor do we want anything you have to offer (which is a shame cause eternal life is quite the gift we give)". I say ok and begin to go up the stairs to the top floor. The lady calls me back saying "no, no, no one wants or needs what you have to offer". I say, "can't they decide for themselves?" and start to go up the stairs. They begin to scream bloody murder at me. My companion is completely frozen at the bottom of the stairs not knowing what he should do, and I'm calmly climbing the stairs to the top floor. One of the ladies runs to the front of the building to ring all the telecoms and tell everyone in the building not to open their doors the Jehovah's Witnesses are coming. Oh my! After we finish all the doors (only two people answered saw who we were, and shut the door) the lady continues to yell at me. I finally say to her "I think you could use some charity." I think that really made her mad, but I didn't see her reaction cause we ran out of there- nor do I care cause she also didn't even know who we were. Anyway the first picture is us wandering around in the dark although it doesn't seem that way to ya'll, it was dark. The second picture is of Matera old city from a cliff edge. It's cool cause the city sits on this cliff, and it is just beautiful. The third is of me climbing on some roof tops to get a cool picture. I swear you could enter that into any photo competition and win. Well don't worry there will be more pictures next week cause I have about a hundred and a funny video I want to send next time.

I had hit heads with another missionary really hard.

Buongiorno

Ok this week was really good. We had a baptism on Sunday, and something really embarrising happened. As the person was coming out of the font her clothes, being wet, were completely see through!!!! I felt sooooo bad for her, but she just laughed it off. Yesterday we did our p-day with the Taranto zone, and we rented a full size soccer field. It was ten on ten, but there were some minor things we over looked. None of us have played on a field like that for at least a 1 1/2 years, all of us are out of shape, and the game was in the middle of the afternoon. We were all dead, and I had hit heads with another missionary really hard. That and the lack of rest and water- everything was spinning in circles. It was terrible cause I had to stop playing, and once I left we lost. The pictures are of Matera finally, but I have better ones. The computer has just decided to not work right today (Sorry there aren't ANY pictures cause the computer is terrible. I hate computers!!!!!!!!!) I did find out that we missed the best part of Matera, cause there are these caves that were inhabitated by 30 thousand people until the 1950's. It's like a dwarf city. We missed it cause we were just happy to be there considering we didn't know which stop we had to get off the train. So I will go back in the next few weeks, but it might be a while.

Tutto ben in Sion. Arrivederci.

imagine three people stumbling around in the dark

Salve!

Well this week really didn't go so well with everybody getting home from the holidays. Everyone is really mad and grumpy. After english class one night we walked all the way back to our house from the other church across town (usually we take the bus because it's about a 5 mile walk, but this night we really needed to teach people). We walked all this way without a single person talking to us. It was unbelievable. Not a soul even tried to stop. The only people that said stuff back was to yell at us. I wanted to cry. I've never seen so many people so mean.

Moving on... today we probably did the coolest thing in the world. If ya'll have seen the movie Passion of the Christ. Think about the old city in the background, and just the general area where they filmed the movie. I know what you are all asking yourselves, and the answer is yes. We went to Matera today. One of the oldest cities in the world. It was really amazing. I really can't explain it, and it will be a while until I can steal the pictures from the other missionaries. Ya'll must realize that it is a thing you really have to expirience. Funny story about today. In the city there are a ton of abandoned houses and caves. We naturally go into these places, and one particular house/cave (it was really kind of both) was pitch black. So we, being the intelligent people that we are use the flash on our cameras to see where we are going. These flashes don't reveal a whole lot so it didn't really work, but in the picture it appears that the cave is perfectly lighted. I personally thought it was funny because you have to imagine three people stumbling around in the dark, but the pictures show that there is no darkness. There's a lot of pictures of us bending down feeling the ground in front of us to make sure there aren't any bottomless pits to fall into. I don't know use your imaginations. Just know that the trip was way awesome. I'm just glad my parents weren't there because they would have been yelling at me every second. Things like get off those roofs, stop climbing those cliffs, stop scaling the castle wall, etc... I love you all, and next week I will try to have pictures.
